The solenoids plunger force is a linear function of the current through the coil but is also strongly depending on the distance of the center of the plunger and the center of the solenoids.
A common method in operating solenoids is to apply it to a higher voltage in relation to its nominal voltage. The solenoids nominal voltage is the voltage upon which the solenoids can be applied continuously with out being over heated. By applying a higher voltage to the solenoids the force will also become higher but the operation time should be less than one minute depending on the voltage level and the duty cycle of the operation.
